Caines Head State Recreation Area
1 Day Alaska sea kayaking & hiking adventure

Early morning drive from Anchorage to Seward. Load our sea kayaks and gear onto an ocean charter vessel for a short ride to Caines Head. After securing our kayaks and gear above the high tide line we'll hike up to Fort McGilvray. At the fort we'll explore the maze of underground passages and rooms. Outside the fort we'll eat lunch and enjoy the sweeping vistas of Resurrection Bay and the Gulf of Alaska.

After lunch, hike back down to beach where our guides will teach you some basic sea kayaking skills before we sea kayak back to Seward. While sea kayaking back to Seward we'll probe the nocks and crags along the coastline and look for wildlife. Before driving back to Anchorage we will make time for a no-host dinner or you can explore the town of Seward on your own. Drive back to Anchorage, enjoying the beautiful Kenai mountains and searching for bald eagles, beluga whales and Dall sheep on this designated National Scenic Byway. Arrive back in Anchorage late evening.

Tour Includes: Transfers to and from Seward, Seakayaking equipment, guided hiking and seakayaking tour and Logistics Staff Coordination.
