Open Council of Delegates

M, T, W, 5:00-6:00 PM, Egan
Led by Marilyn Riley and John Hendee

The Open Council of Delegates provides opportunity for anyone to share thoughts, feelings, ideas and issues about their work with wilderness, and their experience at the 8th WWC. Sharing in a council circle is an ancient process and still used widely in many native and rural communities, where participants are equal and can speak and listen from the heart, without judgment. The sharing of ideas, experiences and stories at a personal level can lead to new understandings and insights. Colleagueship and friendships may be formed and strengthened among delegates from around the world.

"The civilized people have lost the aptitude of stillness, and must take lessons in silence from the wild."   Isak Dinesen
