The 8th WWC is divided into two components: Pre-Congress Training Sessions (25-29 September), and the Main Program (30 September – 6 October).

The Main Program includes the Global Wilderness Forum (plenary sessions 30 September – 1 October), and the Wilderness Working Sessions (morning plenary and afternoon concurrent sessions 3 October – 6 October). The Main Program is divided into four major symposium areas: Science and Stewardship, The Wild Planet Project, Culture and Conservation, and Youth and Young Professionals.

All plenary sessions are held in the Egan Convention Center. Concurrent sessions are held in the Egan and in participating hotels. All sessions are within 5 minutes walking distance of each other.

Alaskans, please note: The 8th WWC is a public process and you are welcome to register on this website (or at the door on a space available basis). Also, free admission is available to Nature Screen  (environmental film festival, 25-29 September 2005, Public Lands Information Center, Anchorage), and the  WILD Expo (Egan, 1-2 October 2005, downstairs)
