Pre-Registration Details

Welcome to the 8th World Wilderness Congress delegate registration. We encourage you to register early to assure your participation and accommodation, as the total number of registered delegates is limited. An early booking discount is available; see below. Please read the following information carefully before you proceed to the registration form itself. 

  Your registration fee is important

 


The 8th WWC is financed almost entirely through private sources – your registration fee, private donors, and some foundations. Only a VERY small amount of government funding is assisting with a few, targeted parts of program planning. If you are interested in being an 8th WWC sponsor (and receiving the benefits of association), or contributing to the scholarship fund, [more...] All such donations are tax deductible in the United States.
    
  Registration scholarships

 


A very limited number of registration scholarships are available for those without support from any other source, and from a developing country. click here for criteria
    
  Early registration discount

 


All payments are in USD and paid in full at the time of registration. REGISTER EARLY -- for those full registrations received before 04/01/2005, a 10% discount applies. You also receive a FREE, four-color, 8WWC 2005 international wildlands conservation calendar.
    
  Fees include entrance to all 8WWC related events

 


Delegate fees include entrance to all 8WWC related events (morning, afternoon and evenings) on the day(s) you are registered, such as: all plenary and working sessions, workshops; entire cultural program (dance, native culture, film festival, art exhibits, concerts); WILD Expo on 1-2 October; The WILD Pub with live music; selected day tours; birding excursions; receptions; refreshments; local transport; and more. Food, accommodation and some tours are extra costs.
    
  PAYMENT OPTIONS - VERY IMPORTANT

 


PLEASE PAY ON-LINE WITH YOUR CREDIT CARD WHEN YOU REGISTER.  If you want to pay via postal service or fax, you will be invoiced and full fees are due within 45 days or registration will be cancelled.
    
 US VISAS – PLAN  AHEAD - VERY IMPORTANT

 


US VISAS – The new anti-terrorism laws require citizens of many countries to appear in-person at the US Consulate for an interview. This process can take 2 months! Check the requirements for your country and PLAN AHEAD, please…this is a real and urgent consideration.
    
  Hotels, Cancellations and refunds, Language

 


All official Congress hotels are within short and easy walking distance of the Egan Conference Center. The Captain Cook Hotel is the official 8WWC headquarters hotel, and the Hilton is the headquarters for the Science and Stewardship Program.

Cancellation and refunds ­ Delegate registration fees are refundable until 15 August 2005, less 20% administration charge. Hotel reservation fees are refundable in full until 16 September 2005. Hotel cancellations after 16 September 2005 will be subject to a 20% cancellation fee.

For budgetary reasons, all proceedings will be conducted in English. Thank you for understanding.
    
  Local Support Discount

 


The WWC always encourages and supports local/regional wildlands-related issues. Therefore, if you join the Alaska Center for the Environment, you receive a 15% discount off the 8thWWC registration fee…click here to join and save!
    
  Spouse or Companion Registration

 


Spouse or non-delegate companions may register for individual days, or may purchase a specially discounted spouse/companion registration and thereby have access to all 3-4-5 October concurrent sessions and evening cultural events.
    
  Lunches

 


Lunches will be available for purchase at the Egan Conference Center and at numerous nearby restaurants and shopping mall. There is an extra cost for lunch built into registration for the two pre-Congress Seminars, Global Wilderness Seminar for Government Agencies (28-29 September -two day lunch fee = $40 Please select during registration) and Conservation Photography (29 September one day lunch fee = $20 Please select during registration).
    
  Off-line registration fee

 


Our on-line registration process is completely secured through VeriSign. If you prefer to register and pay off-line, for any reason, please fill in your name and address information and click the option “off-line” in the payment section, and a registration form will be emailed or mailed to you, and your completed form and registration must be mailed back.
    
  Accredited Media Representatives

 


The 8th WWC welcomes representatives from the media to report on the issues, debates, personalities, and outcomes. Please send an email to our media office, with your employment or contract details, questions, or objectives in covering the 8th WWC. We will review your credentials and pre-authorize registration if all is in order.
