8thWWC Sponsorship Opportunities and Benefits:

SPONSORSHIP LEVELS

Thank you for considering support of the 8th WWC. The accomplishments of the WWC over 27 years have been mad possible by the generous support from individuals, foundations, corporations, and some government agencies. The following is a summary overview of 8thWWC sponsor opportunities and benefits. More details are available, as the program continues to evolve. Please contact Julie Dunn, Director of Program Development, The WILD Foundation.

Patrons: $50,000 and above. Patrons receive six registrations and top billing under the lead sponsor in the WWC brochure and program, on the website, in media alerts and press releases, and in the published proceedings (of which they will receive six complimentary copies). They also receive a complimentary booth (8’ X 10’) at Wild Expo. Further, a representative can chair an appropriate session or moderate a panel during a plenary session. Patron sponsors confirmed to date are The Ohrstrom Foundation and Little River Foundation.

Benefactors: $25,000 to 49,000. Benefactors receive four registrations and acknowledgement as a Benefactor in the WWC brochure and program, on the website, and in media alerts and press releases, as well as in the published proceedings (of which they receive four complimentary copies). They also receive a complimentary booth (8’ X 10’) at Wild Expo. Should a Benefactor associate its name with a particular WWC theme, a representative can make remarks during a related public program session.

Contributors: $10,000. Contributors receive two registrations and acknowledgement as a Contributor in the Congress brochure and program, on the website, in media alerts and press releases, as well as in the published proceedings (of which they receive two complimentary copies). They also receive a complimentary booth (8’ X 10’) at Wild Expo.

Supporters: $5,000. Supporters receive one registration and acknowledgement as a Supporter in the Congress brochure and program, on the website, as well as in the published proceedings (of which they receive a complimentary copy).

Donors: $1,000. Donors will be acknowledged in the Congress program and on the website.


PROGRAM SPONSORSHIPS

Program sponsorship covers the costs of planning and implementing Plenary Sessions, Scientific Symposia, Technical Meetings, and/or Public Workshops related to a particular theme at the 8th Congress. Some of the many theme areas and program elements currently being developed by many organizations, experts, and professionals are:
  • The Native Lands and Wilderness Council
  • Climate Change – Science, Conservation Planning, and Community Action
  • Wilderness Management Training
  • A Future for the Forests – Boreal, Tropical and Temperate
  • International Governmental Seminar on Wilderness Designation and Management
  • Wild Salmon Conservation – From Watersheds to the High Seas
  • Conservation Photography – Images with Passion and Purpose
  • Conservation Writer’s Rendezvous
  • Landscape-scale Conservation – Connectivity, Restoration and Sustainability
  • A Global Review of Wilderness – Identifying Gaps in Conservation
  • Private Sector Wilderness Initiatives

SPECIAL EVENT SPONSORSHIPS

Opening Night Reception (on the first day of the Congress) – $15,000. “Welcome” reception for all delegates, speakers, sponsors, and dignitaries. This reception will be “named” for the sponsor, if desired.

Native People’s Night at the Alaska Native Heritage Center – $20,000. A special night at the Alaskan Heritage Center featuring demonstrations of dance, music, craftwork and storytelling.

Wild Expo – This public exposition will run during the opening weekend, concurrent with Congress plenary sessions and on the day of local tours, presenting all aspects of using and experiencing wilderness and wildlands. It will consist of displays and demonstrations by artists, recreational equipment companies, tour operators, natural resource companies, conservation agencies and organizations from around the world, and others. Sponsor(s) will receive significant local coverage in newspapers, advertisements, and marketing materials. Full sponsorship is $25,000.

12th International Environmental Film Festival – Organized by the World Wilderness Trust, this juried, documentary film festival will award six different “best of class” prizes plus an overall winner. The films will be shown daily, open to all delegates and the public, with the winning entry shown in entirety on a specific evening. Primary sponsorship is $20,000; other contributions welcomed and acknowledged.
